Search for car following homicide in Austin

The Austin Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in locating a red, 4-door Toyota Camry with the Texas license plate FLH-0260 following a homicide in South Austin over the weekend. 

According to police, officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of Chaparral Trail around 10 p.m. on Sunday, August 4. When they arrived at the scene, police and Austin-Travis County EMS located a Hispanic woman in her forties who had sustained obvious trauma to the body.

EMS obtained a time of death at 11:02 p.m.

Detectives are investigating this incident as a homicide.

They are speaking with witnesses and looking for more information. The Travis County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the exact cause and manner of death.
