"Speakout" and vigil held at Huston-Tillotson University

There's concern about officer-involved shootings across the country and discussions are being held in East Austin tonight. A vigil and "speakout"were held at Huston-Tillotson University.

These people are out here tonight to speak out after the killing of Terrance Crutcher last week.  Just today, the Tulsa County D.A. felt there was enough evidence to charge officer Betty Shelby with first degree manslaughter.

We've heard from some who say that's a step in the right direction, some say it needs to be murder.

They are also here tonight remembering Keith Scott who was killed in Charlotte after police say had a gun, but did not clearly show him pointing it toward anyone. Demand for transparency and release of dashcam and body cam video sparked violent protests in Charlotte. That's not what we're seeing here in Austin.
