Special Olympics Texas Winter Games kick off

It's been a busy day for Scott Fisher. Not only has he been tracking the weather he spent the afternoon with athletes from across Texas to kick off the 23rd Annual Special Olympics Texas Winter Games.

The opening ceremony was held at Shoreline Church and included entertainment by a magician as well as the lighting of the SOTX cauldron.

Athletes are now gearing up to compete in several sports including powerlifting, bowling and track and field.
The games run through the weekend.
