Tom Hanks big draw at Texas Book Festival

The Texas Book Festival brought in plenty of star power to Austin over the weekend. 

This year actor Tom Hanks was in town to promote his book "Uncommon Type: Some Stories". Hanks signed books for guests and held a discussion with a Pulitzer Prize winner from Austin

Dan Rather was at the festival to promote his book.

The festival is one of the longest running book festivals in the nation. It connects readers and fans to the authors and books they love over a two day weekend.

This year's book festival included 300 authors, discussion panels, live music events, cooking demonstatrations and book signings.

There were also children acitivites in addition to tents dedicated to children's books.
