Friday is Tom Petty Day in Austin.

The city is honoring the late musician on what would have been his 67th birthday. He died earlier this month after suffering a cardiac arrest at his California home.

The proclamation recognizes Petty's career that spanned four decades and how he inspired generations, including many here in Austin.

To celebrate, Sun Radio will dedicate the day to Petty's music, playing songs from all 13 studio albums with the Heartbreakers, live performances, his early days with the Traveling Wilburys, collaborations and covers.

Local artists will also stop by the studio to pay tribute with live performances and dedications.
