Torchy's closing original Trailer Park location

Torchy's Tacos has announced it's closing its original Trailer Park location and throwing a "Thank You Austin" celebration block party to show its appreciation to its customers.

The party will be on March 7th at 1311 South First Street from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Torchy's food trailer that started it all back in 2006.

Those who attend will be treated to some free food and Torchy's is donating $1 to the Texas School for the Deaf.

Founder and Vice President of Marketing & Culinary at Torchy's Mike Rypka says in a release that the decision to close the Trailer Park location wasn't easy.

Torchy's now operates more than 50 locations in Texas, Colorado and Oklahoma.
