Warnings and closures throughout the Hill Country

Flooding throughout the Hill Country has caused several closures and warnings through the region.

The National Weather Service has issued warnings and watches for the following counties:

  • Flash Flood Watch until 10/18/2018 7:00 PM for Williamson County, Hays County, Travis County
  • Flash Flood Watch until 10/18/2018 7:00 PM for Gillespie County, Burnet County, Llano County, Blanco County.
  • Flash Flood Watch until 10/18/2018 7:00 PM for San Saba County, Mason County.

The following school districts and schools are closed for Wednesday (10/17)

  • Marble Falls ISD
  • Llano ISD
  • Marble Falls Faith Academy
  • Kingsland Charter School

The following school districts will start school on a delay for Wednesday:

  • Burnet CISD - Two hour delay
  • Fredericksburg ISD - Classes start at 10 AM
  • Harper ISD - Two hour delay. Buses will run two hours late.

Flooding remains a big concern in parts of Central Texas.

LCRA began flood control operations and closed lakes Travis, Marble Falls, LBJ, Inks & Buchanan effective immediately and until further notice.

The Austin Parks and Recreation Department also closed the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail. In addition, there is a 48 hour waterway ban for Lake Austin from Mansfield Dam to Tom Miller Dam; Lady Bird Lake; and the Colorado River downstream of Longhorn Dam. Barton Springs, Barton Creek Greenbelt, all creeks and streams, and all city of Austin golf courses have also been closed.

Several Travis County parks are either closed or partially closed, including Bob Wentz, Cypress Creek and Pace Bend. For more information, head here.
