WilCo Sheriff's Office distributes Brown Santa gifts

Santa's elves delivered some presents to Central Texas early as the Williamson County Sheriff's Office handed out hundreds of boxes of toys as part of its Brown Santa initiative.

All year long the sheriff's office raises money and collects toys for the annual holiday event. Gifts are then distributed to families in need of a little assistance this time of year.

"Every year it seems like it's growing," Williamson County PIO and Brown Santa board member Patricia Gutierrez says. "More families need help every year. We are more than happy to help them. Christmas is a time of giving so it just makes us happy to be able to help these families."

Officials say about 1,800 kids will receive toys from this year's program.

If you registered for a box and have not picked it up you stop by the distribution center in Georgetown on Thursday (12/13) night from 5:30-8 PM.

The center is located at 909 South Austin Avenue next to the Williamson County Tax Office.
