Worker at Austin bar sues Johnny Manziel

Former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel is being sued by a worker at an Austin bar.

According to the lawsuit, Eric Newton said he was working as a bartending assistant at the bar in September while Manziel was attending a private party.

Newton claims Manziel got angry because he would not make him drinks. He was not the actual bartender at the time and said he told Manziel to go downstairs to get a drink.

Later that night, someone head Newton make negative comments about the disgraced former pro athlete. Manziel allegedly confronted him, cursed at him and punched him and broke his nose, the lawsuit states.

Newton claims Manziel ran out the back of the bar before police arrived. He’s suing for the assault and emotional distress and hopes to college damages as determined by the jury.

Manziel is also due in court in North Texas Thursday for his domestic violence case. He’s charged with assaulting his former girlfriend last year, but the charges could be dropped because of a deal with Dallas County prosecutors.
