Migrants make it to shore, people rush to help

- A group of a dozen migrants and a dog on a raft made it to shore in Miami Beach, Florida Tuesday.

Aerial video shows the group of 11 men and one woman running onto the beach from a small wooden raft with a makeshift sail. There were dozens of beachgoers and staff from nearby hotels giving them food, water, clothing and money.

People were seen clapping for them, and at least one of the migrants was draped in an American flag.

A Miami Beach police spokesperson could not immediately confirm the migrants' nationality, although some local media are reporting that they came from Cuba.

Under the 1966 Cuban Adjustment Act, if the migrants are in fact Cuban, they would be allowed to remain in the United States legally.
