Ted Cruz urges Orlando voters to stop Donald Trump

- Texas Senator Ted Cruz called on Orlando voters on Friday to help him stop Donald Trump from winning the Republican nomination for president.

During a town hall meeting, hosted by Fox News Channel’s Sean Hannity, Cruz said the contest was essentially down to him and Trump, despite the fact that Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Ohio Governor John Kasich remain in the race.

“If you don't want Donald Trump to be the nominee and lose to Hillary, then I ask you join our team we welcome you.  Come on in the water's fine,” Cruz said of his opponents’ supporters after the taping.

Cruz is running third in the polls in Florida behind Trump and Rubio, respectively, but he is in second place behind Trump when it comes to delegates won so far.

“Nobody else is remotely close… so the choice here in the state of Florida is really simple, do you want Donald Trump to be the nominee or not.  If Donald Trump is the nominee Hillary Clinton wins.  Hillary Clinton wallops Donald Trump,” Cruz said.

GOP candidates have been eyeing Florida and its 99 delegates for months.  Early voting ends in most counties on Sunday.  Florida's Presidential Primary is on Tuesday .
