Travis County enjoyed a very high voter turnout

There was a tremendously high voter turnout all over Travis County on Super Tuesday. By 2 P.M. over 50,000 people had already hit the polls and that number continued to grow.

With that turnout, huge wait times were reported at several polling locations across Central Texas. Up until 7:00 P.M. the line at Ben Hur Shrine kept growing. At one point voters told us it took more than an hour just to get in the door.

No one seemed upset about the wait, in fact every one we spoke to said they were happy to see such a large turnout.

The line could have been cut off at 7 P.M. however the democratic judge at this site said she let a few people who showed up just after 7 into the line because she quote "Didn't want to turn anyone away if she didn't know why they were late."
