Pope Francis Blesses Boy En Route to Independence Mall

PHILADELPHIA--(WTXF)--Pope Francis blessed a boy on his way to Independence Mall on Saturday.

Landon and his father Ariel, of Norristown, spoke with FOX 29’s Steve Keeley.

Ariel, who is a teacher at William Tennent High School, was able to say “Bless him in Spanish” and that’s when Pope Francis’ tapped the driver to stop. Police officers helped the boy reach Pope Francis and the emotional moment followed.

Landon was diagnosed with cancer on his 4th birthday, his father told FOX 29. He will be 9 years old in November. His father says it’s been a tough road for the boy.
