A member of Open Carry Texas had a cap gun in a sock. A DPS trooper told him he could not take the cap gun inside and the man asked repeatedly "tell me what law I am breaking." He was arrested for criminal trespass.
There was more confusion downstairs. Open carry advocates say they were originally told they could not have any guns inside the hearing. That includes concealed handguns even with a concealed handgun license. After a few minutes, troopers said concealed handguns were allowed inside the hearing.
However troopers say toy guns cannot be displayed openly. That's because troopers say they do not have the resources to check every gun to see if it's real or not.
Things have also gotten heated between open carry advocates and anti-open carry groups.
