Radio personality Bobby Bones hosted Red Cross benefit

The cleanup work from the Memorial Day floods is underway but there is a long road ahead to rebuild.

Disaster relief crews will likely be a presence across the hardest hit areas for many months to come but that costs money and tonight a well-known radio host has returned to his roots here in Austin to help raise the funds.

I Heart Country radio star Bobby Bones and his band are hosting a benefit concert and auction to raise money for Central Texas' Red Cross.

Tickets for the Raging Idiots and Friends Flood Relief Concert went on sale on Friday. One hundred percent of the proceeds go towards helping the Central Texas victims of the Memorial Day floods.

The Red Cross has pledged $5 million but are only about halfway to their goal.

They work to help victims in the immediate aftermath of natural disasters but they are also there for victims for the long haul.

The Red Cross is in need of volunteers and donations. You can sign up to do both on their website here. Your pledge can be earmarked to help Central Texas flood victims.

They also want us to remind anyone who's is a flood victim that they can call the number on their screen for assistance from the Red Cross.
