Round Rock ISD included in third-party data breach

ROUND ROCK, Texas - A third-party data breach has impacted Round Rock ISD, as well as thousands of school districts and universities across the nation.

Round Rock ISD says the data breach did not originate with the district, but rather with Pearson, a third-party district service provider.

The breach impacted 13,000 school districts and universities in the U.S., including Round Rock ISD. The district says they are checking with Pearson to see how many other districts in Texas were impacted.

According to Round Rock ISD, their Technology and Information Services department worked directly with Pearson to alert those potentially affected and offer free credit monitoring services.
