"Star Wars" emojis introduced on Twitter

Months before the release of the next "Star Wars" film and coinciding with the Stars Wars Celebration in Anaheim, some characters have been turned into emojis on Twitter.

All you have to do is use the hashtags #C3PO, #STORMTROOPER or #BB8 and what's described as an emoji-like icon will appear in your tweet. The icons are characters in the upcoming "The Force Awakens".

According to Mashable
, the icons are custom to Twitter.com and Twitter's official apps so they don't appear in Tweetdeck or third-party clients.

Star Wars Celebration is an event going on in Anaheim. You can learn more about it here.

"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is set to open in theaters on December 18.
