A suspicious package found at a downtown bus stop near the University of Texas has been deemed safe by the Austin Police Department.
Authorities had to shut down San Jacinto Boulevard and E. MLK Boulevard to investigate a backpack that had been left on a Capital Metro Bus.
The intersection was closed Monday afternoon for more than an hour.
Authorities were given the all-clear at 4 p.m.
