Teen dies in fiery crash in Austin

A teenager was killed in a fiery crash Thursday night.

It happened on the Northbound SH 130 service road near Parmer.

The 15-year-old girl was one of three all from Austin who were in a Nisaan Altima.

The DPS says that car was stopped when a semi blew through a red light and slammed into it.

The crash happened around 8:30 p.m.

The 15-year-old and the 37-year-old driver were taken to UMC Brackenridge with life threatening injuries. The 15-year-old died shortly after midnight.

A 22-month-old boy, also in the car, was taken to Dell Children's. He is listed in good condition.

DPS says the driver of that truck was looking down at his GPS when he slammed into the car.

His truck caught on fire. That driver was treated and released.

DPS says they are still investigating the crash.
