Lancaster teen shot to death in head, torso

A Lancaster teen kidnapped from her home was shot to death in her torso and head, according to the Dallas County Medical Examiner.

Shavon Randle, 13, was kidnapped on June 28 as a ransom for drugs stolen by people connected to her family. She was murdered and left in a vacant house in East Oak Cliff four days after Lancaster police issued an Amber Alert.

The Dallas County ME said Friday that Randle's cause of death was the gunshot wounds and has been officially deemed a homicide.

A man police were looking for, Michael Titus, was also found dead in the home as well.

Titus was killed, it appears, for talking about the marijuana. Randle was killed to cause pain for her family because someone connected to them stole the drugs.

The FBI is leading the investigation. Ballistics work will be done on the bullets removed from Randle and Titus and any shell casings that may have been discovered in the vacant home. They will also look into any guns that may have been seized from anyone arrested or guns found in or near the East Oak Cliff home.

Police have multiple people in custody in connection with Randle's death. Authorities have yet to file murder charges against any of the people arrested.
