Family says missing Angleton couple, child found dead

Family members say a man, woman, and child from Angleton who had not been seen since June 10 have been found dead in Wharton County.

It was Sunday, June 10, when 24-year-old Maya Rivera, her boyfriend, 28-year-old Rayshawn Hudson, and their 5-year-old son, Rayshawn Jr., disappeared. Family members say the three were found dead on Saturday.

They were last seen visiting family in Missouri City.

Maya’s mother, Frances Rivera, spoke with FOX 26. She’s says all they were living with her and it was very unusual to not hear from her daughter.

Monday was her grandson Rayshawn’s 5th birthday. A small party was planned, but when her daughter, Rayshawn Sr. And Rayshawn Jr. didn’t show up, she grew concerned.

“I haven’t slept in days, you know because I sit in the living room I’m thinking they’re going to come to that door just any minute, they’re going to come through that door,” says Rivera.

That’s when Maya’s mother filed a missing persons report.

The car they were driving was last picked up by a license plate reader at Highway 59 between Wharton and Rosenberg. Their car was located by Rosenberg police and the man allegedly driving it was arrested for drug possession, but no other information is known at this time.
