Some students may need to re-take STAAR test because of glitch

Statewide standardized tests called the STAAR continue Wednesday in spite of computer issues in Central Texas.

In some school districts when students submitted their completed writing assignments online, they got an error message. After logging back in, their answers disappeared.

The mother of a student whose answers were erased is frustrated. Her daughter may have to re-take the test.

“That could really be detrimental to them if they find out they have to take the test again,” Holly Moffitt said.

The Texas Education Agency said the essays should be backed up in its system. It is not saying yet if some students will have to take the test again.
