Woman robbed of thousands outside Walmart in Katy

- A woman robbed of $5,000 in cash is speaking up, after an entire month has gone by with no progress on finding the gunmen.

"I'm concerned. They know where I live," says the woman we are identifying only as Marcy for her protection.  "My mother she's been completely traumatized."

Fox-26 interviewed Marcy in silhouette, because the 3 people who followed her home from the Walmart at Fry Road and I-10 are still on the loose.

"The police did confirm that they were standing right behind me at the teller," Marcy tells us.

On February 23, Marcy had just cashed her income tax return check at the Woodforest National Bank inside the Walmart. When she rolled  into her driveway, two men with handguns jumped out of a car driven by a female, and stole her 79 year old mother's purse, and eventually wrestled her purse away, too.

"I was looking at my mother's face, and her panic. I thought, I can not let myself get shot in front of her for $5,000. It just wasn't worth it."

That's right. Marcy had $5,000 in cash. It was money she had planned to spend getting caught up with bills and fixing her car.  She has been unemployed since being layed off in June 2015.

Marcy says within and hour and a half, Harris County deputies were able to show her  images of the suspects, obtained through Walmart's security cameras.  She identified them easily.

"The picture they showed me was perfectly clear. They are perfect pictures," Marcy says. "Anybody would be able to identify them if they know them."
That's part of her frustration over the lack of progress in the investigation.

Fox 26 asked the Harris County Sheriff's Office for the images, but investigators say they're not ready to release them to the public.

But Marcy wants people to be on the lookout for these individuals.  She tells Fox 26 the men involved were African American, roughly 5'11"and 5'8", in their mid- to late 20's. One had a closely shaved beard, the other a goatee. They  got out of a white Nissan, driven by an African American woman with shoulder-length hair.

"God knows how many other people they've done that to, and are continuing to do this to," Marcy says.

In fact, Fox 26 has spoken with another possible victim of these same people. The victim's purse was stolen at a nearby gas station.

Walmart tells Fox 26, it's always their policy to cooperate fully and quickly with law enforcement, and they do hope the perpetrators are caught soon.
