Tuesday is National Sandwich Day!

Tuesday November 3rd is National Sandwich Day, and according to National Day Calendar, the sandwich is believed to be the namesake of John Mantagu, 4th Earl of Sandwich, following the claim that he was inventor of the sandwich. Before being known as a "sandwich," the food seemed to have simply been known as bread and meat or bread and cheese.

The American Heart Association recommends making your sandwich open-faced to cut down on added sodium:

Here's what you came for -- a list of coupons and deals, although we weren't able to find very many:

Subway is offering a buy one sandwich and a 30-ounce drink and get a second sandwich for free.

Arby's is offering their classic roast beef sandwiches for only 99 cents each at participating locations.

Capriotti's is offering the chance to win free subs for a year if you download their app.

McDonald's is also giving away a free sandwich if you download their app, although this may not be a special just for National Sandwich Day.

On social media, many people are using the hashtag #NationalSandwichDay, so you can browse for specific deals there as well.
