2 shot outside Foot Locker in Brooklyn Center over pair of shoes

At least two people were injured in a shooting outside the Foot Locker in Brooklyn Center, Minn. Saturday morning. Brooklyn Center police believe the shooting was over a pair of the newly-released Nike Air Jordan shoes.

The shooting occurred just after 10 a.m. in the parking lot outside the store at 1580 Shingle Creek Parkway. Brooklyn Center police confirmed two men were shot.

Robbin Loyde says her 24 year old brother was the target of two men at the Foot Locker in Brooklyn Center. The scuffle was over a pair of newly released pink and white Nike Air Jordans.

“They got mad because my brother and my cousin got the shoes first.” Loyde said.

The verbal argument started inside Foot Locker and then escalated once Robbin’s brother and cousin walked out and into the parking lot.

“The first guy came to his car to get his gun and that's how my brother seen what was going on.” Loyde said. Robbin says her brother has a permit to carry. He shot back at the car.
