1 officer in critical condition, suspect dead after shooting

The suspect in an officer-involved shooting early Thursday morning has died, authorities said.

According to Sgt. Pete Dugan with the Tucson Police Department, two officers were shot in the incident.

TPD Chief Magnus said one officer underwent surgery for injuries in the shoulder and chest and is in intensive care. The second officer was shot in the leg and is expected to be able to go home later Thursday. Both were treated at Banner - University Medical Center.

Details are still limited. TPD is getting ready to hold a press conference about what happened.
