911 call: 'Yes, it's Prince'

- The Carver County sheriff’s office has released the transcript of the 911 call that was placed when Prince was found unresponsive in an elevator at his Paisley Park estate in Chanhassen, Minnesota. First responders attempted CPR, but Prince was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 57.

The call was placed at 9:43 a.m., and Prince was pronounced dead at 10:07 a.m. An autopsy will be performed by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office on Friday to determine the cause of death.

EC: 911, where is your emergency?

UM: Hi there, um, what’s the address, here? Yea we need an ambulance right now.

EC: Okay.

UM: Um, we’re at Prince’s house.

EC: Okay, does anybody know the address? Is there any mail around that you could look at?

UM: Yea, yea, okay, hold on.

EC: Okay, your cell phone’s not going to tell me where you’re at, so I need you to find me an address.

UM: Yea, we have um, we have um, so, yea, um, the person is dead here.

EC: Okay, get me the address please.

UM: Okay, okay, I’m working on it.

EC: Concentrate on that.

UM: And the people are just distraught.

EC: I understand they are distraught, but.

UM: I’m working on it, I’m working on it.

EC: Okay, do we know how the person died?

UM: I don’t know, I don’t know.

EC: Okay

UM: Um, so we’re, we’re in Minneapolis, Minnesota and we are at the home of Prince.

EC: You’re in Minneapolis?

UM: Yea, Minneapolis, Minnesota.

EC: You’re sure you are in Minneapolis?

UM: That’s correct.

EC: Okay, have you found an address yet?

UM: Yea, um, I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry I need, I need the address here?

EC: 7801 what?

UM: Paisley Park, we are at Paisley Park.

EC: You’re at Paisley Park, okay, that’s in Chanhassen. Are you with the person who’s…

UM: Yes, it’s Prince.

EC: Okay.

UM: The person.

EC: Okay, stay on the line with me.

UM: Okay.

(phone ringing)

S: Ambulance, Shirley.

EC: Carver with the transfer for Paisley Park Studios, 78.

S: Paisley Park Studios, okay.

EC: We have a person down, not breathing.

EC: Yup.

UM: He’s, he’s.

EC: We’re going to get everybody, go ahead with the transmittal sir.

KM: Dispatch Kayley.

S: Yea Kayley this is Shirley at Ridgeview, you can cancel anybody going to Audubon, confirmed DOA.

KM: Okay, thank you.

S: All right, thanks, bye.
