Police in College Park said a man believed to be the driver in a hit and run that injured a pregnant woman turned himself into police late Wednesday.

Mennottis Camp was booked into the Fulton County Jail. Police believe Camp was driving the car that hit Angelica Green while she crossed Old National Highway in College Park last Wednesday. She was still recovering in the hospital Tuesday.

On Wednesday, Camp waived his first court appearance. He has been charged with serious injury by vehicle, hit and run, and reckless driving.

Green's boyfriend, Tre Ellerbee, could only watch as his pregnant girlfriend was hit by the car and sent flying through the air. The incident was caught on surveillance video and the couple spent the past few days trying to get the driver to turn himself into police.

“Take responsibility for what you did. It's wrong. You can't hit somebody in the street and go about your day,” Green said, talking through intense pain.

Ellerbee was two steps ahead of Angelica and watched the whole thing.

“It just hurts that I was left out there and he did not look back,” said Green.

Green has a broken hip, two broken legs, and a nasty head injury, but since she has been in Grady Memorial Hospital, she has discovered a huge blessing.

“When I woke up, my boyfriend told me I am pregnant. Nothing happened to the baby,” said Green.

Camp is scheduled for a court hearing on Wednesday.
