Passenger's phone catches fire during flight

SEATTLE, WA (WTXF) - A flight from Washington to Hawaii takes a scary turn over the ocean when a woman's cell phone erupts in flames.

A photo posted online shows the iPhone completely charred.  Anna Crail, a college student,  says she was watching a movie on her phone mid-flight when flames started shooting out of it!

"There were 8-inch flames coming right off my phone, and I flipped it off under the ground, and it got under someone else's seat, and the flames were just getting higher, and a bunch of people just stood up," said Anna Crail.

The airline says they were able to put the fire out quickly and no one was hurt. The flight continued on to Honolulu. The airline and the FAA are now investigating how the fire started.
