Pizza delivery guy turned Good Samaritan after Hurricane Matthew

- In her 87 years, Claire Olsen has experienced more than a few hurricanes.  But this time, when Hurricane Matthew barreled across Florida, her grandson in Nebraska asked her to stay in contact with him, before and after the storm.

“Keep in touch with me, grandma,"  Claire Olsen said.  "Then, after I lost the power, he couldn’t get me.”

For about three days, she had no power.  Then, on Sunday, she got a knock at the door from a Papa John’s pizza delivery guy.  It was 20-year-old Lance Tyler with a hot pizza in hand.

"I said, ‘I didn’t order anything," she said. "I have no phone!’”

Tyler explained to Olsen that her grandson had the pizza delivered to her, with specific instructions to call him as soon as it arrived.

“Really, I thought it was clever,” Tyler explained. “He was very worried... it sounded like, ‘Is she there? Is she ok?’”

Tyler handed Olsen his cell phone, and on the other, was her grandson.

“She heard her grandson’s voice, and her eyes lit right up," he said.

“I was very thankful and happy they could do something that good!” Olsen explained.

Tyler added, with a smile, “I felt really good.”

A good deed, all from a hot pizza serving up swarm smiles and calming tense nerves after the storm.
