Bald eagles fight over territory in Pinellas County

A pair of bald eagles were caught on video defending their territory in Pinellas County.

The two eagles were defending their territory in Tierra Verde against two other, younger eagles, Kathleen Finnerty says.

Video shows two of the eagles in a talon lock, competing for the territory, and then plunging through the sky in a death spiral. This fight went on for about two hours, said Finnerty.

Finnerty says eagles will often fight to the death, but in the end, this pair defending their territory were successful. The other pair flew away and hasn't been back since.
