WWII vet reunited with stolen teacup Chihuahua in Downey

- A 93-year-old World War II veteran was happily reunited with his beloved teacup Chihuahua on Saturday after the dog was taken from his front yard in Downey.

Roger LeClair said his 1.5 pound "Lola" was taken Nov. 9 while she was enjoying the warm sun in the yard. A neighborhood boy told LeClair he saw a woman drive up in a red car and pick up the tiny dog.

Desperate to find her, LeClair posted signs in the neighborhood and even offered a reward.

"She was only the size of a large mouse when I first got her," LeClair told FOX 11. "We sleep together, we go everywhere together. She's just the love of my life."

LeClair's story was posted on FOX 11's Facebook page, which has been viewed nearly 1 million times and widely shared by people hoping to reunite the pair.

On Saturday, he received a call from a woman in Chino who said she found a lost teacup Chihuahua matching Lola's description while coaching on a field.

They were soon reunited, and the 12-year-old dog appeared to be in good health.
