Harlem Globetrotters issue challenge to Dwight Howard

- Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard is engaged in a Twitter battle, but thankfully, it is not with another NBA player and the nature of the back-and-forth tweets is on the rather innocent side. During a Rockets practice session on Sunday, Howard shot the basketball over the back of his head from almost the full length of the court and watched as it reached the rim and sunk into the net after bouncing off the backboard.

In response to Howard's feat, the Harlem Globetrotters tweeted one of their own on Monday with Thunder Law sharing a record-setting shot of his own on Twitter. Guinness World Records has recognized an 82-feet 2-inches long shot that he took on Nov. 3, 2014 at US Airways Center in Phoenix, Ariz. as the "farthest basketball shot made backwards."

Howard replied on Twitter to the Globetrotters' challenge issued by Law.

The challenge is timely as the Globetrotters will appear at Toyota Center in Houston from Jan. 30 and 31. Players Hawk Thomas and El Gato Melendez will visit Houston on Tuesday, Jan. 26 and Wednesday, Jan. 27 to meet fans in advance of the two-day event.
