Michael Phelps on UT campus

Swimming great Michael Phelps is on the University of Texas campus as he continues his comeback with an eye on the upcoming Olympic Games in Rio. He's headlining the Arena Pro Swim Series.

Despite his record 18 gold medals, including four from the 2012 London Olympic Games, it seems getting more precious metal isn't what's driving his latest farewell tour.

"I'm doing this swimming thing because I want to and that's the only reason why and I didn't want to comeback and have it be like it was in 2012 where I was kinda kicking and screaming. I wanted to come back and I wanted to enjoy this experience and it's just been an awesome ride so far," Phelps says.

Phelps says he has fond memories of swimming in Austin.

"This is a town where I usually enjoy coming to swim and usually enjoy coming to compete. This is where I broke my first world record and I remember the race like it was yesterday."

But don't expect Phelps to come back to Austin...at least to swim.

'This is probably the last time I'll ever swim in this pool. And no I'm not coming back again. I'm not swimming in it again!"
