Talented roster on Round Rock High baseball team

The Texas/Texas A&M rivalry is alive and well on the Dragons baseball team. The team is loaded with future college talent including two Longhorns and two Aggies.

The two future Longhorns are senior first baseman/pitcher Mason Thompson and senior outfielder Austin Todd.

While senior pitcher Mason Cole and senior outfielder Cameron Blake are the two future Aggies.

Even though they aren't officially rivals yet that hasn't stopped them from showing support to their future teams.

"It's nonstop trash talking, but we're best buds. So it's alright. It all works out," Todd says.

Blake says, "I'm happy for them. Happy for us. It's a great dynamic because we get to talk a bunch of mess to each other. It's just all fun and good. So, it's been great."

The Longhorns and Aggies have only played four times since Texas A&M left the Big 12 to join the Southeastern Conference four years ago. The two schools are expected to play next season and it's definitely a rivalry the signees want to see renewed.

Thompson says, "It's hard to talk about a rivalry if you're not playing each other every year. So, I'm definitely looking forward to it."

"Throwing in four best friends on two different teams it would be the best. I would absolutely love it," Blake says.

They may relish the competition but it'll definitely be a change from the last four years.

"It's gonna be a new experience for us for sure. We've always been rooting each other on and we'll continue to do so obviously.  But when we have to strap up and play against each other. It's going to be kind of a new thing and a little bit different. Having to do that for the first time, but it'll be fun," Thompson says.
