GEORGETOWN, Texas (FOX 7 Austin) - Two time defending champs Westlake High School were hoping to win a third straight 6A UIL Boys State Golf Tournament title with its "A" team and hoping to have its "B" team finish on medal stand as well.
Head coach Callan Nokes accomplished just that with all the talent on his roster!
Westlake was led by freshmen like Jacob Sosa all week. Sosa started the day tied for the lead at three under and finished tied for 5th.
Senior Thomas Bockholt fired a second round 68 and finished tied for first individually at five under.
Westlake finished at 12 under and won state by 20 strokes just like the Chaparral girls did.
Vandegrift tried to keep it close but the Vipers finished in second just ahead of Westlake's 'B" team which finished third.
