Stepson kills stepdad, posts selfie with body on social media

- Police are investigating an extremely disturbing murder that left neighbors in a tight-knit Bowie, Maryland neighborhood stunned. Police say a suspect killed his stepfather and then posted photos of his body to social media Saturday morning.

Prince George’s County police responded a home on Dalby Court in Bowie at about 8:45 am Saturday to investigate a possible homicide. Inside, officers found the body of a man in his 60s, who died as a result of trauma to his body.

Police were searching for the victim’s stepson who was a possible suspect, and authorities spotted him near Hampton Mall. Officers chased him, and the suspect was arrested in another neighborhood near where the murder took place, according to officials.

Detectives quickly discovered a selfie posted to the suspect's Twitter feed showing his stepfather's body inside the home after he was killed.

Neighbors tell FOX 5 the victim was a good, kind man who was well-liked in the neighborhood, they're sick over what happened to him. They also say that the stepfather and stepson had been fighting for about a month, and that police have been called to the home before as a result. Neither the victim nor the suspect have been identified by police.

The investigation is ongoing, and no other details have been released.
