APD investigating sexual assault believed linked to other N. Austin assault cases

The Austin Police Department is investigating a sexual assault that's believed to be related to other North Austin sexual assault cases. They're asking the public for help in identifying the suspect.

Police say a female was walking around her apartment complex in the 11200 block of Taylor Draper Lane on April 17 at around 11:50 a.m. when she was grabbed from behind. The suspect ran off after she screamed.

The suspect is described as:

  • White/Hispanic male
  • Skinny in build
  • Short brown hair
  • Dark colored eyes
  • Mid 20 years of age
  • 155 lbs.
  • Mask partially covering face
  • He was last seen wearing lighter colored jeans with a dark grey short sleeve shirt and possibly wearing or carrying a grey long sleeved or light weight sweat shirt.

Detectives believe this incident is related to the other North Austin sexual assault cases.

Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to call 911 immediately. Please reference APD Case Number: 16-1080749. Residents are also encouraged to call 911 if they see any suspicious persons or activity.
