LIVE BLOG: Snow and sleet falls in Austin area
AUSTIN, Texas - Winter weather has hit Austin and the rest of Central Texas as snow and sleet and other precipitation has fallen in the area.

Austin weather: Road conditions near Bastrop
Rudy Koski is on Highway 71 and has a look at the conditions near Bastrop.
9:47 a.m. FOX 7 Austin meteorologist Leslie London says most of the snow has moved out of the Central Texas area. The system has moved east and has prompted a first-ever blizzard warning along the Gulf Coast.
Temperatures are expected to get above freezing and whatever has accumulated will melt. One concern is that temperatures will get back below freezing later this evening and it could cause some refreezing.
8:26 a.m. Areas of ice and snow on SH 130 South and the frontage roads (US 183). Crews are treating areas where possible.
8:18 a.m. City of Elgin announces that the Elgin Public Library will open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today (January 21) to provide a warming facility for the community. The location is 404 North Main Street.
Elgin Recreation Center and City Offices will be closed today.
8:16 a.m. Lakeway Police Department says there are patches of ice and snow on area roadways. Crews are treating areas where possible but drivers are asked to avoid driving and use extra caution if you have to get out on the roads.
8:02 a.m. Williamson County Office of Emergency Management put out an alert for the Hutto area that law enforcement is closing CR 137 at CR 197 due to icy road conditions. Drivers are asked to stay home if they can.
7:55 a.m. Cedar Park Police Department report icy side streets and intersections and minor accidents. Drivers asked to stay home or slow down.
7:45 a.m. Snow has mostly moved out of the area, Dwindling but still could see some light snow falling in some areas. FOX 7 Austin's Jessica Rivera is on Highway 290 and says first responders have been busy with cars skidding on the roads.

6:50 a.m. There have been a few cancelations and delayed flights at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. If you're traveling today you should check directly with your airline or you can also look here.
6:41 a.m. The National Weather Service cancels a Winter Weather Advisory for Bell and Milam Counties.
6:31 a.m. Cedar Park Police Department posted on X that it has responded to a handful of crashes overnight due to the icy conditions. Drivers are urged to use extreme caution, slow down and give yourself plenty of time if you need to be out on the roads.
6:25 a.m. TxDOT joins FOX 7 Austin's Casey Claiborne on Good Day Austin and talks about the road conditions and what's being done to help keep those on the road safe.

Snow and sleet has fallen in the Austin-area and TxDOT has an update on what the conditions are, what they're doing to keep people safe and what you can do if you have to be out on the roads.
5:30 a.m. The National Weather Service says snow is occurring along the I-35 corridor and into the Coastal Plains with accumulations on untreated roads occurring. The heaviest accumulations are occurring in the Austin metro into the Coastal Plains.
