18-wheeler catches on fire, shuts down Frontage Road

The trailer of an 18-wheeler caught on fire in the early morning of Tuesday, August 14, shutting down the block of a service road for I-35 for hours. First responders have completely shut down the southbound Frontage Road of I-35 that is south of Walnut Avenue.

Police estimate that the entire block will remain closed for hours. 

Drivers are suggested to find alternate routes for their morning commute. 

 

 

According to the New Braunfels Police Department, the fire might have been caused by overheated brakes. Crews will be on scene investigating and cleaning for a couple of hours. Please drive carefully.
