Teenager injured, shot in face during overnight shooting

The Austin Police Department is investigating an overnight shooting in northeast Austin that resulted in a teenager being sent to a local hospital after he was shot in the face. Multiple suspects are believed to have been involved in this incident. 

According to police, the shooting happened just before 11:30 p.m. on Monday, August 14. 

Officers were dispatched to Barns Trail and Saint Merryn Road in regards to a shooting. When they arrived on scene, a male teenager was discovered who had been shot in the face. He was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center with critical injuries. 

It appears that the victim was sitting inside of his vehicle when he was shot. 

Police officers are actively searching for multiple suspects. 

No word yet on why or how the shooting started.
