The holiday shopping spree is underway. It started with turkey day deals, then Black Friday discounts and continues now with small business Saturday. The National Retail Federation is predicting that more than 160 million people will hit stores during this holiday weekend.

To help local stores cash in on that, Small Business Saturday was created.

The manager of Toy Joy in downtown Austin, Andrew Guinn, tells FOX 7 they actually experience a big bump in sales from Black Friday to Saturday.

"A lot of our core business is people support us as a small business, and Austin local, we've been in Austin 30 years, and the reason why we've been around for that long is that people support our small business, everything we do stays in Austin, all of the money we make stays here in Austin, to support our small team and help the community,” said Guinn.

In the survey by the national federation, the majority of those who responded said they would shop on Black Friday. 43 percent also said they'd be out again on Saturday with most saying they will do that to support small business.
