TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas - A man was shot to death in Travis County and officers have charged his fiancé with his murder.
For the 12th time in 2017, Travis County deputies responded to a murder scene.
“We received a 911 call about 4:19 in the morning on December 31, 2017 from a woman who needed an ambulance,” said Kristen Dark, spokeswoman for the Travis County Sheriff’s Office.
When deputies arrived to the gated home on Doss Road they found a man, Bradley Cole Sullivan, unconscious.
“EMS worked on that male and determined that he had a gunshot wound and he was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased,” Dark said.
Next, deputies looked for the person responsible for firing the fatal shot.
“Detectives got a search warrant for the residence and their investigation led them to the fiancé being the suspect in this case,” said Dark.
The Travis County Sheriff's Office said Charity Sunshine Ellis now faces a murder charge for the crime.
“She has been arrested and she is in the Travis County Jail right now on a $400,000 bond,” Dark said.
Deputies are still working to uncover the details explaining what could have led Sullivan’s fiancé to pull the trigger.
“Our investigators are putting that together now so they're conducting their interviews and they are doing their investigation and their task now is to figure out exactly what happened and exactly what led up to this,” said Dark.
With a suspect in custody, officers said there is no reason for others to fear.
“With her in custody, this obviously appears to be an isolated incident and we don't believe that the public is in any danger whatsoever,” Dark said.
