Senator John Cornyn has joined calls for a Senate hearing into the command climate and culture at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas.
When Congress passed the CARES Act stimulus package in March, lawmakers authorized $600 a week of enhanced unemployment benefits, a lifeline for many that is set to expire in Texas Saturday.
The grants would provide six months of financial support to the venues that would "keep venues afloat, pay employees, and preserve a critical economic sector for communities across America," a press release from the U.S. Senate stated.

The funding was appropriated by Congress in March through the Department of Housing and Urban Development as part of the CARES Act.
The CARES Act allows each school discretion in deciding how the assistance will be awarded to students.
