ANCHOR
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Anchor Reporter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be bilingual, possess a strong on-air presence, and be a hard-working multi-tasker capable of handling the fast-paced environment of live news broadcasting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver news stories with clarity, confidence, and professionalism.
- Conduct live interviews and report on breaking news events.
- Collaborate with producers and other team members to develop engaging content.
- Research and write news stories for broadcast and digital platforms.
- Maintain a strong social media presence to engage with our audience.

NEWSCAST DIRECTOR
Duties/Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively and professionally with on-air staff, off-air staff, production and technical crews, and management to deliver clean and engaging newscasts.
- Work with management and on-air staff to write stories and develop content.
- Lead implementation of new concepts and ideas for newscasts.
- Establish quality control and consistent look from the various technical operational positions.
- Manage post-show review, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving.
- Demonstrate responsibility for all equipment issued by FOX.
- Comply with all FOX Corporate computer requirements.
- Comply with all FOX Corporate and station policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Deep understanding of innovative production concepts that engage viewers.
- Ability to lead, thrive under pressure, and succeed while creatively delivering fast-paced news shows.
- Ability to direct during unscripted moments like breaking news and other live events.

- This is a full-time, regular shift, but the news business is a 24/7 world and schedules can occasionally change due to vacation relief, breaking news, or other staffing requirements.
Education and Experience
- Two (2) years of experience directing live daily newscasts on an automation system.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Radio/TV, or related discipline preferred.
- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to use tools, manipulate small parts, and make minute adjustments to controls requiring fine finger movements.
- Must be able to affix a wireless microphone to staff and interviewees
PRODUCER
Key Responsibilities
- Create, develop, and produce daily rundowns for a newscast, incorporating a strong mix of news and lifestyle content.
- Create, develop, and produce compelling news/lifestyle shows weekly on streaming platforms and online.
- Coordinate with directors, associate technical directors, and production crews to ensure seamless execution of news shows over the air and on streaming.
- Collaborate closely with the Assignment Desk, Assignments Manager, Executive Producers, and News Directors to shape show flow and select stories.
- Create graphics, maps, lower thirds, banners, and chyrons to visually support and enhance storytelling.
- Maintain flexibility during live shows to pivot seamlessly for breaking news or late-developing stories.
- Monitor show timing to ensure accurate transitions and off times.
- Utilize visual storytelling tools, including video walls and dynamic graphics, to elevate viewer experience.
- Infuse lifestyle content into news rundowns, with an understanding of segments that inform, entertain, and reflect the local community.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of producing experience in a television newsroom.
- Strong writing, copy editing, and headline skills.
- Excellent editorial judgment and a keen sense of what drives audience engagement.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

REPORTER
FOX 7 in Austin, TX is transforming the way local news is collected and shared. We're looking for a creative storyteller to engage our digital and on-air news audiences. Ideal candidates will have a passion for breaking news, all types of severe weather, and taking charge of the day's major story.
We seek someone who recognizes that a reporter's role must evolve beyond traditional television to connect with audiences where they are. We emphasize innovative techniques that deliver relevant, memorable, and impactful storytelling across our website, news and streaming apps, social media platforms, and eventually on our linear channel.
This role caters to both digital and linear news consumers, offering content through linear broadcasts and our FOX Local digital platform. To effectively serve both audiences, you should be a self-starter with excellent writing skills and a clear vision for how each story will unfold throughout the morning across various platforms.
Strong live reporting skills and the ability to meet frequent rolling deadlines are essential, especially during breaking news and continuous severe weather events that often characterize the Austin news scene. We aim for high audience engagement on social media, and the reporter will be equipped with the tools to achieve and surpass these goals. The storyteller must be skilled in using social media to enhance newsgathering and reach wider audiences.
MAINTENANCE ENGINEER
KTBC Fox 7, a Fox-owned and operated TV station in downtown Austin, TX, is seeking a fulltime customer service-focused and team-oriented Maintenance Engineer.
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for installing, operating, and maintaining video, audio, and other television broadcast and non-broadcast equipment, including data networks including SMPTE ST 2110 standards, production control switchers, audio mixers, automation systems, routing switchers, server-based record and play-out systems, non-linear editors, encoders, decoders and multiplexers, newsroom computer systems, media streaming systems, and RF transmission equipment.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide paramount customer service and collaboration with other departments.
- Collaborate with an astute engineering team to design, install, test, and document new systems and equipment as assigned.
- Manage and maintain data networks while conforming to our Information Security Team's strict policies.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance to all systems supporting broadcast operations for live and production events.
- Accurately troubleshoot and repair technical faults quickly to minimize loss of service. • Perform software and hardware updates, tests, and installation as required.
- Provide technical assistance and training to the technical operating staff on day-to-day operations and workflows.
- Practice, teach, and encourage best engineering standards and practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Applicant must have the ability to solve complex problems and the capacity to concentrate for long periods.
- Must have a solid working knowledge of broadcast and network systems. Experience in RF and fiber optic workflows is desirable.
- Applicant must be able to work in a proactive, not a reactive, environment.
- Candidate must be able to work in a team collaborative environment and be a self-starter without direct supervision.
- Must be flexible with changes in workflows, a clear communicator, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
- Applicants with prior experience in television, radio broadcast engineering, or similar technical disciplines are preferred.
- An associate degree with an emphasis in Engineering/ IT is preferred, or at least four years of equivalent industry experience is needed.
- Applicant must be able to climb ladders up to 20 feet, lift 40 pounds, and work in tight spaces. • Must be able to work flexible hours.
- Must be able to work fully onsite, either at the station's Studio or Transmitter.
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record are required to drive company vehicles.
- Must pass a background check.
