President & CEO of Greater Austin Black Chamber of Commerce weighs in on current climate
From celebrities to athletes and everyday citizens, many have expressed their voices over George Floyd's death in police custody. Recently Tam Hawkins added her voice and she shares her thoughts about what's going on now and her hopes for the next generation.
AUSTIN, Texas - Many people continue to protest for equality and against racial injustice and another way to show support is by supporting local black-owned businesses.
The Greater Austin Black Chamber has a list of businesses you can support and a few of them have appeared on Good Day Austin.

Soul Food meets popcorn at Austin’s ‘Soul Popped’
De J. Lozada had just $53 in her bank account back in 2016 when she decided to start a business making her favorite snack: popcorn. Now, the Soul Food-meets-popcorn concept “Soul Popped” has achieved more than half a million dollars in sales. Lozada joined Good Day Austin’s Casey Claiborne this week to share her inspirational story.

Good Day Cooks: Shrimp with sweet pepper and jasmine rice
Ilbersalle Fallon with Niella Catering stopped by the Good Day Austin studio to teach Leslie Rangel how to make shrimp with sweet pepper and jasmine rice. Niella Catering does traditional catering for special events such as weddings and Christmas dinners, as well as personal chef and creative catering activities.
