Georgetown’s Wolf Ranch Town Center holds grand “reopening”

Over the weekend, retailers across the area were allowed to open their doors. Popular shopping spots The Domain, Lakeline Mall, Barton Creek Square, and both San Marcos and Round Rock outlets were among those with a grand "reopening." However, things won't be the same for a while.

Wolf Ranch Town Center announced its reopening on Monday, May 4. Shoppers should expect some changes.

“Guests should expect to practice social distancing, to stay at least six feet away from people per code of conduct. We are trying to stay consistent with the CDC guidelines. We recommend that our guests cover their mouth and nose," said general manager Rhonda Pritchard.

You'll also see more frequent disinfecting by staff, and hand sanitizing stations in high trafficked areas. Malls and shopping complexes across the area are all doing this.

“We've been really inspired by the resilience of our community and have really been looking forward to safely welcome our guests, tenants, and employees back to Wolf Ranch,” said Pritchard.

Businesses are having to adapt and also operate at 25 percent occupancy during this first phase.

“Right now the concerns are centered around when is the next order going to take place. Are customers going to come back to them? How long is it going to take for them to return to normal? But overall businesses are trying to navigate this interesting and trying time,” said Jim Johnson, president and CEO at Georgetown Chamber of Commerce.

Johnson said one of the biggest takeaways for everyone is adaptation during uncertain times.

“I think many of our businesses are going to continue to embrace technology. We've seen toy stores start doing virtual shopping for their kids so they can still have a birthday or holiday like they normally would. We've seen places that sell beer and women’s clothing to do food deliveries,” he said.
