American Airlines said starting in 2027 they will be equipping hundreds of their planes with Starlink Wi-Fi.
What we know:
The specific planes they are looking to add to the service are 500 of their narrow-body aircraft, to be used for domestic and shorter international routes, as reported by Reuters.
Particulars of the costs were not released.

Currently, the airline only offers AT&T Wi-Fi for customers who are enrolled in their loyalty program.

Partnership with SpaceX
In 2025, Starlink was the only profitable business owned by its parent company, SpaceX.
Starlink is a low-Earth satellite constellation operated by SpaceX. The world’s largest satellite operator provides high-speed internet to more than 150 countries.
Starlink also has deals with several other airlines. In the U.S. alone, they have deals with Southwest, United and Alaska Airlines. Internationally, they are also working with Emirates out of Dubai and Singapore Airlines.
