"Any student caught fighting tomorrow will be going to jail" says Chody after fight results in lockout at McNeil HS
AUSTIN, Texas - Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody has a message for students at McNeil High School.
"I will tell you, we are going to have a bigger presence tomorrow and any student caught fighting tomorrow will be going to jail and charges will be filed to the fullest extent," Chody said in a video he posted to Twitter Thursday night. "This is getting a little crazy. We are going to have a higher presence, parents, at the McNeil HS students tomorrow."
Chody's message comes after several students were arrested for fighting Thursday. He says it all started when someone posted a challenge on social media.
WCSO reported on Twitter around 12:30 p.m. that deputies were investigating a group fight that occurred off-campus that resulted in a lockout at the school. The lockout was lifted half an hour later.
"Parents of McNeil, please talk to your students," Chody said in the video. "Talk to your kids."
Chody says all school resource officers will be given extra resources to prevent more fights.
