APD: Baby Elijah has been found

Baby Elijah has been found, says Austin police.

APD tweeted that he was located safe and is now with Child Protective Services.

Brandy Yovonne Galbert, who reportedly took Elijah from the hospital where he was born, is in custody, says APD, but they are still looking for his mother Brittany Sadi Smith.

He was last seen on July 22 after police say Smith checked into a local hospital under a false name on July 19 and gave birth to him.

Smith reportedly gave permission for the baby to leave the hospital on July 22 with Galbert, who is believed to be a cousin.

Elijah had not been seen since.

On July 24, Child Protective Investigations received a court order for Elijah to be removed from the mother's custody and placed into theirs.

Brittany and Brandy were believed to be in the Austin or Killeen area with Elijah's father, Carl Dennis Hayden Jr.

In addition to descriptions of Smith, Galbert and Hayden, the AMBER alert issued Monday morning listed a gold 2007 Pontiac Torrent with the license plate KNN 7632.
